People were asked to imagine the following problem and to answer the question.

You have a science project that is due in two days. You’ve been working on it for a few weeks, but you still need a lot of work. Today your history teacher announced a major test for the same day that your science project is due.

What would you do?

For each of the paired answers, choose the answer you like most.

1. Between these two, which do you like most?

A) I would study for my test first because that takes the least amount of time and it’s really simple. Then I would start to work on the project and get as much as I can on that night and then try and finish the next day and still try to go to bed early so I am awake for my test. And if you did not finish it, it is OK because having some done is better than having not done it at all. B) Well I would do my best to get my science project done and study for my history test, but I would first work on my science project since its almost already done. Then I would study super hard for my history test but it's a good thing that I'm good at multi-tasking so I'm sure I could do it. I just got to believe in myself. If I believe I can do anything I set my mind to and I know I could complete my science project and study for my history test and get both of them done.
2. Between these two, which do you like most?

A) I would probably work fast and finish my science project as soon as I could and times when I’m not around it start studying for the test. I would leave the science project for home work and work on it at home from the time I get off school until the time I’m about to go to sleep. And then for the test, like I said, I would study it in between periods to try my best to get a good grade on both. B) I would try my best to finish it as fast as I can. If I don’t finish it I’ll talk to my teacher and tell him/her that if it would be fine if my project will be a day late. Or I would ask if I can stay after school so I can catch up with my project and finish it faster.
3. Between these two, which do you like most?

A) I would get started right away and finish my science project first since I already started that. Then I would swiftly get started on my history project. I would focus all my attention on my work and use all spare time to work on it. Also, if I know that I might not be able to finish I would let my teacher know ahead of time. B) What I would do if I were to be in this situation is whenever I had time I would ask a teacher to give me extra time. If not, then I would spend most of my time from when I get home until I go to sleep to do my project and study as much as I would need to in order to be ready to turn my project in and also be ready for the upcoming test.
4. Between these two, which do you like most?

A) I would stay up the latest maybe one in the morning and work on the project. Then, on the second day, I would study for the test and write down some notes for the day of the test so that I can study before the test. If my project wasn’t finished then I would go work on it right when I get home, just so that I do not fail the class the project is in. B) Two days can be a lot of time if you have good time management skills. Instead of watching television or going out with your friends you could be finishing your science project and studying for your test as well. Once you feel confident that you are prepared for your test and that your project is done you can have fun.
